SolidWorks 2017 sports bunches of extra features and changes

Dassault Systemes has just introduced the most recent version of its computer aided design (CAD) and computer-aided engineering (CAE) suite, SolidWorks 2017.

Through SolidWorks 2017, Dassault Systemes has generated upwards of 250 newer developments based on customer comments and has added in a whole new software package inside the suite identified as SolidWorks PCB.

Among the innovative innovations to SolidWorks 2017 is a function named 3D Interconnect, which enables files generated in some other CAD/CAE software package to be read and edited in SolidWorks.

These 3D models created in a different CAD application suite can be controlled and used with various other Three-dimensional models generated in SolidWorks.

Reported by Ba-Thong Phan, Dassault Systemes senior technical manager, SolidWorks 2017 has the capability to read and edit file types created by 5 of the primary famous platforms.

One additional new feature in SolidWorks 2017 is Magnetic Mate, which permits users to build items which can “snap” together whenever the buyer pulls one in the vicinity of the other – this feature, that permits the consumer to determine what areas may snap with each other and at which connection , allows less complicated component layouts.

SolidWorks PCB is a newer accessory for the program suite and enables included printed circuit board design that may be designed in combination with the many other hardware elements.

SolidWorks is about the most well-liked CAD/CAE software suites on the earth, with purchasers that contain the aerospace industry, transporting, customer items and others.

As stated by Benjamin Tan, manager of sales for Dassault Systemes, 80 % of the top end Swiss Watch vendors make use of SolidWorks to help with the design and producing of high class watches.

In Malaysia only, SolidWorks has more than 1,000 users, including country’s car company Proton, in keeping with Tan.

Dassault Systemes is now presenting term licensing of SolidWorks along with its traditional constant license alternative.

Tan states that term licensing costs approximately US$300 (roughly RM1,200) per one-quarter while continuous licenses will charge from between US$8,000 to US$15,000 (approximately RM32,0000 to RM60,000).
